Assignment #20

Part 1

Take the block patten that was handed out in class and prepare it.

Here is what I want you to do

*Find class video HERE

• 1 On the center front, add your “FOLD” marking. No seam allowance will be added here.

• 2 Add 1/4” seam allowance to the other seams *** except the bottom hem.
• 3 On the center back, add 1/2” seam allowance.
• 4 On all the other seams (on all 4 sheets) add 1/4” seam allowance **Not the bottom hem.
• 5 *Note- the little piece on each page, when cut, is to be taped onto the bottom of the longer piece of each page. You will need to butt them up to the bigger piece with no overlap.
• 6 Cut the pattern out (it’s now a pattern because you added seam allowance to it) and tape the smaller piece to the bottom of the larger piece (do this for each page).  *Note- on one of the pages you will find that there is not enough space for the seam allowance for both pieces. Put the allowance on the biggest piece and cut that out, then put the alliance on the smaller piece where you can and once cut out, adjust (trace) a new smaller piece before taping.
• 7 Put the markings on each piece so you know what they are when cutting out fabric.

Take a picture of these 4 pattern pieces (side by side)

And upload them to your folder by

Part 2

(Due Tuesday)

I will grade them by Sunday and will check to make sure you have them correct so you can go on to the cutting of the fabric. If I see something that needs to be changed I’ll send you an email so you can correct it before you cut the fabric.

Once you get the go ahead,

Go ahead and trace these patterns on fabric and cut them out.

Remember that the front is cut on the “FOLD” and all the others will nee 2 of each.
